Yes, I'm being intentionally facetious here. If there's a glaring security hole in a program, that's one thing. However, that's not the case with Java, that's not the case with Flash, and it's a bit ignorant to say that Java itself is a poor program because it is inherently unsafe.

Yah, generally the biggest security flaw are PEBKAC errors, though holes in Flash and unpatched browsers also dominate.

I've been getting some questions recently so I think I should drop a line.

I am a student. Aside from a few random contributions, I am also the only person that has ever committed code for MMOUI Minion, despite requests for assistance. I also have a job with a very well respected company.

My job and my schooling comes first. As a result, unfortunately development of Minion has slacked a little. However I have not forgotten the project. As the school year comes to a close I hope to be addressing many of the major issues people have commented on.

The biggest issue I still have is with regards to the heuristics that determine which addon is which. I have a (quite fun) plan to resolve this, I just need to get everything in order, so stay tuned.

Thanks for sticking with us despite the problems, I know this hasn't been easy, but I still hope to make Minion the all-around updater that everyone's been looking for.

Some people keep separate chat windows, but others prefer to keep it simple. Well, now you can have your simple chat frame and still be able to keep track of chat that really matters, all while still being able to view your money looted and reputation gained information when you wish. This addon moves all of these messages to a tooltip (shown when you hover over the button next to the chat frame) so that you are free to disable the messages in your chat settings. You can also right-click the button to print this information in chat or to clear its data.

I was having the same issues, running Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04), AMD64. However, I looked at the next post:

And running the command "java -jar..." worked and let me update and install new add-ons and everything, but I still do not have an Options pane. I wonder though, why running that command in Terminal to start it is any different than my GNOME panel launcher I made which runs the command:
